(The Kabul Times): Following signing peace deal between US and Taliban in Doha, Afghanistan government says it is ready to for the intra-Afghan dialogue to decide on maintaining peace and stability in the country. In his latest remark in connection with the negotiating team, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said he is committed to maintaining the principle of partnership in composition of the negotiating team as the Afghanistan is formed of various communities, stressing that the meaning of the partnership is to accept each other rather to veto. According to the country’s President, consultations have been done in this regard and in a meeting which will be held during the current week, discussion will be followed to decide on formation of a negotiating team representing all the people to follow talks with the Taliban group. “The delegation will represent from values of the Islamic Republic and constitution of Afghanistan in talks with the Taliban group and it’s Kabul who will give authorization to the delegation as the delegation itself won’t have complete authorization,” President Ghani said. The country’s President has also said that list of the negotiating team won’t be long and the government will soon unveil names of the team. Meanwhile, Afghan political experts believe that the only way for maintaining peace and stability is to start direct talks with the Taliban. According to the experts, ceasefire should be maintained simultaneously with starting negotiations between the two sides. The option for maintaining ceasefire prior to starting the intra-Afghan dialogue has been repeatedly raised by Afghanistan government. Now it is time to take maintaining ceasefire as serious. Taliban should prove that they want to end the ongoing war through negotiations. Without maintaining ceasefire, it is not possible to reach lasting peace in the country as ceasefire is a preface for ending a war and strengthening the peace process as well as a test for parties to conflict to show they have chosen an option for ending the war. In consideration to the above points, ceasefire on the threshold of starting the intra-Afghan dialogue is considered as a serious need and it is necessary to make it happen. Meanwhile, the people of Afghanistan do not want Taliban ideological beliefs to be imposed on them. The problem of the Taliban group has been resolved with the US, but Afghan citizens, the government and political forces of the country still have problem with the group as the problem between the two sides has not been resolved so far. The problem of the people of Afghanistan with the Taliban can be resolved at a time when the group stops violence and joins the political force to reach their goals in the country.
