A delegation from the Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS), including CAPS Head of Research Mr. Halimullah Kousary and Research Analyst Mr. Hekmatullah Azamy, visited China from 19 to 26 July 2017 at the invitation of the Chinese government. The delegation held meetings with China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) in Beijing and Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS) in Shanghai.

Agendas discussed by both sides included political, economic and security situation in Afghanistan, the broader region and required state-to-state mechanisms at bilateral and multilateral levels to address the existing challenges. The two sides highlighted role of Belt and Road Initiative as a vehicle to promote regional stability and development and practical cooperation among states towards a stable region.
