During16-27 January 2012, Mr. Sayed Maisam Wahidi, Senior Research Analyst at the Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS) participated in the extensive Terrorism Analyst Training Course (TATC) organized by the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR) at S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The agenda for the training course included discussions on the issues of terrorism, extremist ideology, and lessons learned from counterterrorism strategies implemented by the U.S., Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.

Mr. Wahidi, presented on the topics of security threats and insurgency tactics in Afghanistan and explained joint NATO and Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) military operations against counter terrorism in Afghanistan. At this training course, research fellows, police and intelligence officials from Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore and the U.S. participated and presented their home country experiences on the issues of terrorism. In addition, during the training course, all participants visited the Counter Terrorism Suite at Home Team Academy of Singapore to learn about the preventive measures and counterterrorism strategies implemented by the government of Singapore.
