BIOGRAPHY
Sayed Maisam Wahidi is currently a Research Analyst at the Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS), a leading research center located in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Wahidi’s research focuses on the issue of political advancement in developing countries with a particular focus on Afghanistan and the Middle East. His main research topics have been primarily focused on, conflict resolution, security and development issues pertaining to Afghanistan. He is also an analyst in the field of international cooperation and multilateral institutions that focus on responding to global security threats and humanitarian crisis.
Mr. Wahidi has also worked previously as a research intern for the Asia Foundation Korea office; he conducted research related to the Asia Foundation’s various programs, including its Asia development program, especially those concerning the country of Afghanistan.
Mr. Wahidi served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Afghanistan for over a year, gaining a broad and clear understanding of the government system and its various departments. He has also worked for various international NGOs and legal aid organizations in Afghanistan.
Mr. Wahidi was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and he is fluent in English, Dari and has a good understanding of Arabic, Korean and Pashto.
