Cabinet orders more work on mining law KABUL : The Council of Ministers believes the proposed mining law needs more work for reasons of clarity and improvement, the Presidential Palace said on Monday. President Hamid Karzai, who chaired the Cabinet meeting, directed Minister of Justice Habibullah Ghalib to work more on the draft law, a statement from the Palace said. The measure must be comprehensive and clear enough to guarantee the protection of Afghanistan’s national interest, the president told the minister. Afghanistan has significant amounts of undiscovered non-fuel mineral resources, according to the US Geological Surveys of 2007. The survey says mineral resources presented a great source for a country’s industrial growth. (source: " Cabinet orders more work on mining law ",www.pajhwok.com,23/Jul/2012) |
