(TOLO News): Figures provided by the Supreme Court revealed that 138 lawyers have been killed and 66 others have been wounded over the past three years.  The conference was titled “Reducing the Impact of Poor Security on the Afghan Legal System,” and Attorney General Farid Hamidi said security threats have affected the government’s ability to provide justice across the country.  “We firmly advocate defending the people’s rights and for strengthening rule of law,” he said.  Other officials also highlighted the importance of boosting the security of those who are involved in the judicial system. “We cannot achieve justice in a disordered situation. Security is the most proper condition for ensuring justice,” Justice Minister Abdul Basir Anwari said. This comes as four lawyers were killed in an attack by unidentified armed men in Logar province two weeks ago.
